The 27th International Conference on Magnetic Resonance in Biological Systems

Welcome to the ICMRBS 2016

On behalf of the organizing committee and the board members, we sincerely welcome you to the XXVIIth International Conference on Magnetic Resonance in Biological Systems (ICMRBS) in Kyoto. This most important international biological magnetic resonance conference was previously held twice in Japan, in 1978 at Nara and in 1998 at Tokyo. We are very pleased to mention that these two conferences significantly contributed to the promotion of magnetic resonance research in Asian counties, and facilitated international collaborations throughout the world. Kyoto, one of the most historically important cities in Japan comprising 17 UNESCO world cultural heritage sites, is also known as a center of contemporary research activities in the world for a wide range of disciplines. We hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy the scientific excitement of the conference, and also admire the unique cultural sites in Kyoto that have been well preserved over the past eleven centuries.

The XXVIIth ICMRBS will be a scientifically stimulating conference, including the latest advances in various aspects of magnetic resonance in biology. The conference includes sessions on solution and solid-state NMR, EPR, MR imaging, and theory & methods. We have tried our best to provide various levels of support, especially to give young investigators opportunities to report their latest research accomplishments in a poster or oral presentation. Needless to say, the enthusiastic participation of young scientists is the most important asset and tradition of the ICMRBS.

We thank again all of you for your active participation in the conference, and hope you enjoy your stay in Kyoto.
